The 2019 Canadian Skydiving Nationals are shaping up to be an exciting event, with competitors from all over the country coming to compete for the honour of representing Canada in the 2020 World Championships.
Since the 2020 Worlds are going to be the largest in history, all of Canada’s best will be hoping to be on the team and will no doubt do their very best to win that honour which promises great performances for the spectators. With skydiving and base jumping videos being one of the most viewed things on the internet and the fact that the International Olympic Committee is considering indoor skydiving as a potential new event, there is no questioning the popularity of the sport and its reach. In fact, we have already attained a letter of support from Corus Entertainment and are approaching multiple media outlets to attempt to gain television coverage. We have also received interest from the surrounding townships to host events of the competition in picturesque settings so the visual presentation should be incredible. We would not like to speculate on the attendance numbers, however, we do feel that with the current visitor numbers to the area for events it should be quite high and are hoping that with television coverage would provide an even larger reach. The event usually draws about 100 - 150 competitors from around the country, however again with the addition of media coverage and the possibility of televised coverage we expect the number to exceed 200. Everything from the opening ceremonies to the events and the closing ceremonies are sure to provide an exciting and visually stimulating event that is sure to appeal to a very large audience.
