Local Gallery welcomes the public for the first time with an exhibition of exquisite art by ten artists

This inaugural exhibition at the Stonebridge Art Gallery is hosted by the Wasaga Society for the Arts (WSA) and focuses on the work and styling of local painters. It will continue throughout August and will be open to the public on Thursdays and Saturdays from 1.00 pm to 4.00 pm.

WSA Chairman Steve Wallace, in announcing this WSA initiative, said that COVID-19 protocols for Ontario province will apply. “Masks are mandatory inside the gallery. And, masks will be provided if necessary,” he stated.

The Stonebridge Art Gallery, operated by the WSA as a service to the community, is located in the Stonebridge Town Centre at 1 Market Lane, (Suite 8, second floor) right beside the Beach BOOSTER Media Group offices & studio.

Currently on display:

 

Works by the following artists will be on display: Adele Derkowski, Karl Fuhre Sr., Tom Zimm, Jessalyn Sammons, Trevor Dring, Bruce Belford, Jayne Edwards, Earlean Martin, Sue A. Miller and Mark Hope.

Curator of the Stonebridge Art Gallery and advisor to the WSA is artist Sue A. Miller, one of Ontario’s finest painters and an educator of merit. Her work will also be on display during the event.

This inaugural exhibition ends with the auction of four paintings by one of Ontario’s renowned artists and late public servant, Paul Johns. These paintings, an endowment from the Johns family, will also be on display at the Stonebridge Art Gallery during the WSA’s Summer 2020 exhibition

The WSA is a not-for-profit organization founded to assist the development the artistic community and a viable Creative Economy. The WSA’s mission is to advance appreciation of the arts by encouraging, supporting, facilitating and promoting developmental initiatives and activities of the artistic community. In this regard, the WSA has been building capacity to support talented individuals and groups in all branches of the arts, including: Literary, Media, Visual, Culinary and the Performing Arts.
