Dear Resident of Wasaga Beach.

As a booster of Wasaga Beach and a member of the Wasaga Business Association, I am reaching out to our engaged residents regarding some very serious concerns among our local business community and many residents in town.  I’m contacting you now in order to make sure you are aware of a very urgent issue affecting the future of Wasaga Beach, as you had shown an interest in the future of our town by registering for one of our Bus Excursions to see the FRAM developments in Port Credit.

The Wasaga Business Association has an initiative to attempt to engage residents and local business owners, while advising of the urgency of an imminent decision regarding the location of the Entertainment, Dining and Gaming facility coming to Wasaga Beach.  Gateway Casinos & Entertainment will be making a present at the planned Committee of the Whole meeting on February 21. 

I personally, have been “BOOSTING” this amazing town for over 50 years and I will continue to do so as long as there is a Wasaga Beach. Wasaga Beach has a history of making people happy for over 100 years, and I hope to see it continue for generations.

• Write to individual council members, the Deputy Mayor and Mayor. (emails need to be addressed individually in order to be recognized) Suggest dialog with members of council as to their preferred location of this once in a lifetime opportunity of a modern and welcoming entertainment, dining & gaming facility, and how individual members of council feel it will help support Wasaga Beach, its businesses and our one and only industry. • Complete & sign a petition distributed by the Wasaga Business Association. The association has chosen hard copy petitions in lieu of online, to enforce legitimate engagement. (LINK)
• Let your thoughts be known to Gateway Casino & Entertainment. I assure you, they are a great organization with a record of wonderful community engagement and have shown a very open and willingness to speak to members of our community. • Write to Premier Doug Ford about your thoughts as to the future of the Town of Wasaga Beach. (premier@ontario.ca)
• Attend the Committee of the Whole meeting THIS Thursday February 21, 1:00 pm, Town Hall. Feel free to come early (noon) to show a visible presence prior to the meeting.
