My wife and I started Basic Ballroom lessons with Philip and April last fall in preparation for our sons wedding this summer. We did one session with them and followed up with a series of private lessons.We found both to be excellent dancers and more importantly excellent instructors, focused on improving our dancing. We both enjoyed ourselves and we hope to be able to do another session this fall.As a skills instructor for myself for the last 26 years, I appreciated Philip and April's professional approach to dance instruction.They told us that we were not paying them for a series of endless demonstrations of their fancy steps. All demonstrations were limited to the steps we were attempting to learn.They also told us that we were learning basic steps that would allow us to move around any dance floor without counting the steps to someone elses choreography. And it worked. We were able to move around a small crowded dance floor with the skills provided.They never told us we did something wrong unless they could also tell us why and how to fix it. All tips and directions were excellent. And often humourous.They never offered to sell us a year long learn to ballroom dance program like one of the other local schools.We had a great ime, learned a lot, and do hope to be able to learn some more.
