About Us
South Georgian Bay Film Festival
South Georgian Bay is so much more than just a premier tourist destination. Yes, it possesses every kind of experience and adventure the avid traveller could hope for; from the ski hills of Blue Mountain, Mount Saint Louis Moonstone and Horseshoe Valley, to the hiking and biking trails of the Niagara Escarpment, to further still the longest fresh water beach in the world located in Wasaga Beach.
More importantly, it is the heart and soul, the adoration and devotion of its residents that makes South Georgian Bay so very special. To that end, the South Georgian Bay Film Festival is committed to serving the community that embraces it.
The South Georgian Bay Film Festival's (SGBFF) mission is to give regional, national and international filmmakers a platform to express their ideas and visions, as well as provide a venue to showcase the products of their creativity inclusive of the visual and dramatic arts, music industry and cultural background.
Through the art of film, SGBFF encourages understanding, respect, and fairness of all individuals, including their race, colour, creed, ethnicity, culture, place of origin, age, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, mental and physical health status, disability, and socio-economic class.
SGBFF's mandate is to support international, national and regional filmmakers, producers, directors, scriptwriters, actors, animators and their support teams, by providing a medium through which they can showcase their projects, as well as provide film industry related workshops to the residents of the South Georgian Bay area.
