Mary Lou Wheildon
Seven Oaks Studio
I was born in Owen Sound, Ontario and grew up near Chatsworth in Grey County. After living for many years in Oshawa, but always having a summer cottage in Wasaga Beach, my permanent move to Wasaga Beach was made in 2003.I painted before my children were born and now have the time and space to return to my brushes and canvas. My children are now one of my main sources of encouragement to return to painting!
Some time ago I became a student at the Bay School of Art in Collingwood. I can’t say enough good praises for my teachers Michelle Flemming and Sue Miller. Their guidance and encouragement helped me reach a lot of painting and personal goals.
Inspired by the world around me, my paintings are usually local scenes filled with objects and landscapes that are familiar to me. I am a member of the Wasaga Beach Artist Group and am the founder of Seven Oaks Studio in Wasaga Beach. I paint under my maiden name M.L. Wheildon.
