Don’t let your Christmas get stolen… This week I arrived to change some locks for a customer in Wasaga Beach. This lovely lady had been shopping and placed her hand-bag in the shopping cart under her jacket and was trying on some winter coats. She was distracted by some young ladies who asked about the fit of some coats that they were trying on. She returned to her shopping after they left and was dismayed to discover that her purse had been stolen from her cart. All her identification, home and car keys, cheques and cash plus her IPhone were taken. The locks for her home needed to be changed as the thieves had the home keys plus her address. Credit and Debit cards had to be cancelled and re-issued to prevent further loss; her driver’s licence has to be replaced etc. etc. Please take care over the holiday shopping season to make this more difficult for the Grinches & Scrooges out there. Keep your personal belongings on you while you shop, keep your home’s exterior well-lit and locked up; keep your car doors locked as well and any packages stowed out of sight of potential thieves. If you carry a purse strap it diagonally across your body rather than simply over the shoulder to prevent snatching.
